UT Health Carthage, located in Panola County, boasts 23 private patient rooms. The hospital also features a 24-hour emergency department, designated as a Level IV trauma center and acute stroke ready facility with advanced diagnostic technology, a cardiac rehabilitation program, GI lab, outpatient clinics, and a sleep lab.
Responsibilities
- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Texas RN license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation.
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- One year of emergency nursing experience.
- Two years of acute care nursing experience.
- CEN Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
