About the role

Sentara Health is searching for an experienced RN to join the Emergency Department at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with 6 beds dedicated to psychiatric screening and treatment. The department treats approximately 150 patients per day and includes a dedicated radiology suite for plain film and CT imaging. The ED is stroke-certified and receives STEMI and psychiatric patients.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nursing (RN) performs competent nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care (teaching and health promotion), and evaluation. The RN adheres to standards of practice and professional performance, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Requirements

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing
• RN experience in a hospital setting; ED experience highly preferred
• BLSTNCC certification preferred

Pay

$20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified experienced RNs.

Full-time nights: Wednesday–Friday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
