Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for Emergency Department patients
- Provide routine and complex care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Monitor patients for changes in condition, treatment effectiveness, and potential side effects
- Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, treatments, and clinical outcomes
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and available resources
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and assist with managing changing clinical priorities
- Complete required Emergency Department onboarding, orientation, and annual competency validations
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license or multistate compact RN license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- At least one year of Emergency Department or related acute care nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required at the time of hire
- ACLS certification required or obtained within the applicable onboarding period
- PALS certification required or obtained within the applicable onboarding period
- TNCC certification required or obtained within the applicable onboarding period
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and patient care skills
Pay
$32 - $47 per hour
