About the Role
Full-time mid-shift (9a-9p) position, 36 hours per week with variable shifts. Weekend and holiday work required. Self-scheduling available to support work-life balance. This is a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department averaging 200 patients per day.
Responsibilities
- Respond to patients' priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Demonstrate respect for patients through unconditional acceptance, careful handling of the body, and addressing patients by name.
- Understand and incorporate patients' unique perspectives and meanings into care.
- Engage family, caregivers, physicians, and peers in healthcare situations.
- Use a mutual problem-solving approach to help patients and families understand and manage their health and illness, ensuring decisions are acceptable to all involved parties.
- Deliver high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovation.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma, Associate's degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
- 1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
- 1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred.
- Active RN license required upon hire.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required annually within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care Nurse) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- High degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
