Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (Days) (PRN)

About the role

The Registered Nurse performs nursing functions and supervises other RNs, LPNs, and other assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care according to the state nurse practice act.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs
• Plans and implements patient care
• Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided
• Supervises and directs work of other RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Techs as appropriate

Requirements

• Education: See License/Certification Requirements
• Experience: Six months of related experience
• Licenses and Certifications: ALABAMA REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE OR MULTISTATE NURSING LICENSE HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (CPR)

Qualifications

• Qualifications as designated in Nursing Clinical Ladder Policy
• Note: ACLS within 6 months of hire into ED, ICU, Surgery, PACU, L&D, Float Pool (Critical Care and Maternity), SSU if taking GI call, or Cath Lab.
• Note: NRP within 6 months of hire into Nursery and L&D.
• Note: PALS within one year of hire in PACU.
• Note: BLS within 30 days.
