About the role

The Emergency Department at Banner Baywood Medical Center is a 68-bed Level III Trauma Center, certified for stroke, chest pain, fractured hip, and pediatrics. The multidisciplinary team includes a Sr. Nurse Manager, RN, ED Tech, Paramedics, Case Management, Social Work, Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Patient Access Services, and Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.
  • Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team, considering physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs.
  • Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel.
  • Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with other healthcare providers in various settings to report and ask for or clarify information.
  • Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

Requirements

  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
  • One year experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably within the past 12 months.
  • Experience in the clinical area for which the applicant is applying is desired.
  • Maintains clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification preferred.

Skills

Must be able to operate a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
