About the role

The registered nurse (RN) provides specialized care for dialysis patients, including maintenance and home dialysis training. They collaborate with medical teams, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and promote patient education and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain proficiency in dialysis procedures.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee department staff.
  • Ensure proper operation of water room equipment.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, safety, infection control, and performance improvement standards.
  • Document patient care accurately and comprehensively.
  • Coordinate care with healthcare providers, patients, and families.
  • Develop and implement educational plans for patients, including dialysis management and access care.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Active RN license in the practice state.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with adequate visual and communication skills.
  • Preferred certifications include CHN, CPDN, CDN, or specialty certifications from recognized boards.
  • Experience in dialysis or critical care is advantageous.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and standards of care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and work effectively within a team.
  • Comply with safety laws, regulations, and quality standards such as CMS and OSHA.
