Responsibilities
- Treat patients, educate them about mental and medical conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
- Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint of patients.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Assist in performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results.
- Operate medical machinery and administer treatment and medications.
- Assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
- Teach patients and their families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team processes, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health.

This is a per diem position with day shifts.
