Court Liaison

About the role

The Court Liaison provides the Tarrant County Probate Judges with treatment recommendations regarding individuals presented to the Courts for Temporary Commitments. The role also includes providing resource coordination information and serving as the designated liaison between the Probate Courts, District Attorney’s Office, local hospitals, and MHMR Tarrant. The percentage of time spent in the office or hospital depends on specific job functions. Meetings at the hospital will require travel, often using the Court Liaison’s own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment recommendations to Tarrant County Probate Judges for individuals undergoing Temporary Commitments.
• Coordinate resources and serve as the liaison between Probate Courts, the District Attorney’s Office, local hospitals, and MHMR Tarrant.
• Travel to hospitals for meetings, often using a personal vehicle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Health or Human Services field. Acceptable degrees include: Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Services, Communication Disorders, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Education, Family Studies, Gerontology, Educational Psychology, Health Services, Human Services, Human Growth and Development, Medicine, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Social Services, Social Work, Sociology, or Special Education.
• One (1) year of experience in a related Health or Human Services field.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) certification.
• Must provide license (if applicable) and official documentation of all educational attainment (e.g., Transcript/Degree/Certificate).
