REGISTERED NURSE : RN Coordinator- Decentralized Float- Adult Pulmonary Transplant

Responsibilities

• Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care
• Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources
• Manage acute and chronic patient care for post-transplant patients
• Provide skilled observations, telephone triage and health assessments of patients including history, appropriate interventions, and referrals
• Foster continuity of care and facilitate transitions across outpatient and community providers on patient population
• Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory laws and requirements, including HIPAA, CMS Conditions of Participation, The Joint Commission, and UNOS to ensure regulatory compliance in nursing practice
• Potential to support outreach efforts
• Critical thinking skills through the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities
• Customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals
• Adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives
• Knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and reinforcement related to transplant processes, including but not limited to telephone intervention and face-to-face meetings in both individual and group settings
• Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions
• Willingness to adapt to different populations within Transplant Center after successful Orientation

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan
• Three (3) years of nursing experience as an RN
• One to two years of experience caring for solid organ transplant patients as a RN
• Demonstrated competency in the care of immunocompromised patients
• Transplant Certification (CCTC/CCTN) within three years of hire
• Must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment
• Complete and accurate resume must be attached for full consideration

Desired Qualifications

• Recent 3 years RN experience in the inpatient setting
• 2-5 years experience in the Ambulatory Care setting as a RN
• At least 2 years' experience in Operating Room, Procedural Area, or ICU setting as a RN
• Experience in the acute care of transplant patients as a RN
• Knowledge of UMHS nursing policies and standards of practice
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $41.78-$64.81 / hour
• Evening Shift Differential: $3.00 / hour
• Night Shift Differential: $4.00 / hour
• Day Shift Weekend Differential: $2.90 / hour
• Evening Shift Weekend Differential: $5.90 / hour
• Night Shift Weekend Differential: $6.90 / hour
• Charge Nurse Differential: $1.00 / hour
• Hours/Week: 40 hours/week
• Shift: Day shift, 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday; potential weekends and holidays as clinic needs arise
• Hours may be variable (based on patient and volume needs)
• Location: On-site work located in the Transplant Center. Work location could change based on patient needs
• All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census

Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
