Avera Aberdeen Family Physicians is seeking a dedicated professional to join our clinic team on a regular, day-shift basis (Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm).

About the Role

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families. Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to deliver excellent patient care in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing care to patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
  • Prepare equipment and assist providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to providers.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling, ensuring timely flow and preferences for emergency situations.
  • Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and screen for health history, vitals, and nursing assessments.
  • Document obtained information in patient charts.
  • Instruct patients in sample collection and testing procedures.
  • Respond to patient phone calls promptly with appropriate physician input.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crises and complaints.
  • Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Prepare lists of medical supplies needed.
  • Ensure proper labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol.
  • Perform quality control and maintain records for all lab testing.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to work specified hours (Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm).
  • Visual acuity and communication skills adequate to perform position duties, including distinguishing speech and other sounds.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.

Pay

$27.75 – $41.25 per hour, dependent upon experience.
