Pay

• Minimum to midpoint pay rate: $35.04 – $47.30 per hour (higher with applicable experience)
• Hiring incentive: Up to $13,900 in relocation reimbursement for qualified candidates

About the Role

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist facilitates clinical excellence in assigned areas through system, campus, and unit-based orientation, training, ongoing staff development, and competency validation. This role designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates learning programs to support professional growth, skill development, initial and ongoing competence, and adherence to standards of care for direct care providers. Programs are developed using nursing theory, clinical expertise, standards of practice, and principles of pedagogy and andragogy.

Additionally, the specialist actively participates in and collaborates with multidisciplinary performance improvement teams to enhance safety, patient and staff satisfaction, clinical competence, and standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the development of clinical excellence through orientation, training, and ongoing staff development.
• Design, organize, implement, and evaluate learning programs for professional growth and skill development.
• Validate competency and ensure attainment of standards of care for direct care providers.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary performance improvement teams to enhance safety, patient/staff satisfaction, and clinical competence.
• Develop and implement programs using nursing theory, clinical expertise, and educational principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing Education or a related field (preferred).
• Post-graduate certification in education (preferred).
• At least five years of bedside clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Previous experience in an approved specialty area and formal/informal teaching experience in acute care (preferred).
• Current Florida RN licensure.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification (current for at least 90 days post-hire).
• ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, or other certifications as mandated by leadership (to be completed within specified timelines).
• Professional certification in a designated specialty (preferred).
• Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning.
• Membership in professional/academic organizations (preferred).
• Proficiency in basic computer skills: MS Windows, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, and MS Excel.
