This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to RN candidates with greater than 1 year of experience. For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience. Eligible candidates must be hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

About the role

The Child Psychiatric Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital specializes in the care of children. We offer a 12-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally ages from 6-12 years old and as young as 4, who require acute mental health treatment. Typically, these patients are an imminent risk to themselves or others, or are unable to function at a lower level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms. Our multidisciplinary patient care team specializes in the treatment of diagnoses most commonly found in children and adolescents.

The MH Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

MH RN II: This level is competent in their clinical role and has demonstrated the ability to care for most patients assigned. Though not able to care for every patient type within their area of hire, demonstrates how to obtain the appropriate resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time. This level includes automatic advancement after 1 year as a RN I – must be in good standing and meets RN I requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate, delegate, and communicate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with Department guidelines.
  • One year of recent RN experience required.
  • Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New Grad Residency (where available).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
