About the role

The Invasive Cardiology Nurse provides care to all age groups referred with various systems abnormalities, assesses and evaluates patients and families collaboratively, and demonstrates accountability for decisions. The role identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for individual patients or groups using the nursing process, coordinates all aspects of interventional cardiology procedures for both adult and pediatric patients, and provides technical/medical expertise to the medical staff. Documentation of all relevant patient information is performed in accordance with established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, facilitate, and evaluate outcomes of nursing care for individual patients or groups utilizing the nursing process.
  • Evaluate patients considering developmental, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs.
  • Intervene based on identified nursing diagnoses and maintain consistency with therapies of other disciplines.
  • Consistently re-evaluate nursing orders in the provision of patient care.
  • Coordinate and provide technical/medical expertise for all adult and pediatric interventional cardiology procedures.
  • Document relevant patient information in writing for all patients undergoing cardiology procedures in accordance with standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse in NH or a compact state.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an interventional lab.
  • 2–4 years of experience in ICU/CCU.

Schedule

Full-time, 32 hours per week (4 × 8-hour shifts), including 1–2 nights per week of call and every 3rd/4th weekend.
