Registered Nurse - RN - Cardiac Progressive Care
About the Role
8 Main is a 33-bed acuity-adaptable step-down/progressive care unit specializing in Cardiac Care (post-intervention care, dysrhythmias, heart failure, and cardiac conditions requiring monitoring), Renal Transplant (recipients, donors, and transplant rejection), and Vascular Surgery (amputation, revascularization, and bypass). Additionally, the unit frequently cares for patients with other acute medical needs, including DKA, ETOH withdrawal, sepsis, and respiratory illnesses.
This role is ideal for developing or bolstering nursing skills, such as hi-flow oxygen and respiratory management, management of multiple IV drips, telemetry, peritoneal dialysis, Glucostabilizer tool for continuous insulin drips, and post-PCI care. The unit has received the AACN Beacon Silver Award for Excellence in Nursing and fosters a culture of inclusivity, high-quality patient care, and professional growth.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
- Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
- In Grand Rapids, if ADN, must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete within 4 years
- Licensed in the State of Michigan
- 1 year of experience as an RN required (new grads must apply to RN residency, which takes place three times a year in February, July, and October)
