Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

About the Role

The Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice, and is accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantations.
• Assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation processes.
• Keep patients calm and relaxed during procedures where they’re required to be awake.
• Administer appropriate medicine when needed.
• Perform proper after-procedure care.
• Check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
• Provide education about medications and care to patients and families before discharge.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Preferred

Experience

• Critical care experience Preferred
• Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation.
• Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
