About the Role
The Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice, and is accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantations.
- Assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation processes.
- Keep patients calm and relaxed during procedures where they’re required to be awake.
- Administer appropriate medicine when needed.
- Perform proper after-procedure care.
- Check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
- Provide education about medications and care to patients and families before discharge.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Preferred
Experience
- Critical care experience Preferred
- Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
