Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Care-Full Time Nights

Come join our team as a Level II Competent Registered Nurse, where you’ll deliver comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to improve care quality by integrating research and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel, using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate patient, family, and health team involvement in care, including teaching and discharge planning.
  • Communicate and coordinate the plan of care and pertinent information among healthcare team members.
  • Assist leadership in defining standards of excellence for patient care and participate in performance and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff and act as a point of contact for hospital and departmental policies.
  • Contribute to daily operational activities to ensure a safe patient and staff environment.
  • Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs and participate in committees for policy formulation.
  • Complete physical assessments, identify clinical issues, and respond to emergent situations with attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum one year of Cardiac Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state required.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR certification required at hire.
  • AHA ACLS Provider certification required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • ASN: Compensation range $40.59–$51.65.
  • BSN: Compensation range $42.32–$53.86 (BSN required).

Pay

Compensation ranges from $40.59 to $53.86 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Physical: Constant walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs., push/pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills, including color determination; ability to work in confined spaces and reach overhead.
  • Mental: Critical thinking, analytical skills, multitasking, effective communication, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ability to cope with difficult situations and irregular hours (evenings, nights, weekends).
  • Environmental: Potential exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens; must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice must also meet driving requirements.
