About the role

Texas Children’s is seeking an Inpatient Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role requires excellent skills in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing age-appropriate care and incorporating family-centered principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, educate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on patient assessments
  • Execute therapeutic interventions as per established standards and policies
  • Identify and document changes in patient condition and abnormal findings
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members for timely patient flow
  • Delegating and prioritizing tasks related to patient interventions and therapies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree in a related field, technical diploma in nursing with acceptance in a BSN program, or currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working towards an MSN
  • RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • 1-year professional nursing experience
  • 1-2 years of nursing experience in Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology, ICU or Critical Care (preferred)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
  • Current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • 1-year professional nursing experience
  • Experience in Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology, ICU or Critical Care (preferred)

  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
  • Knowledge of pediatric and critical care nursing practices
