Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health PT Days

About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for their Behavioral Health Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Affirms awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Affirms safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
• Is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
• Responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
• Responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• BSN (Preferred)
• Prior experience with the psychiatric population
• Certifications and Licenses Required: Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement, BLS from the American Heart Association

Schedule

• Day Shift
• 37.5 hours
• Full Time
• Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Includes 3 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts per month
• Must work 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays per year

Pay

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
