What This Role Looks Like

Behavior health nursing is meaningful, team-based, and clinically important work-but it also requires emotional resilience, consistency, and strong communication skills. In this role, you will care for patients experiencing acute psychiatric and behavioral health crises. Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills to maintain safety. Provide consistent structure, boundaries, and supportive care. Administer medications and monitor patient response. Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary care coordination. Complete ongoing assessments and documentation. Support patients through stabilization and discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN required)
  • Current Illinois RN license
  • CPI certification required within 1 month of hire
  • Behavioral health experience preferred
  • New graduates considered if motivated for behavioral health practice

Schedule

Full-time, 36 hours/week
12-hour day shifts
