Registered Nurse RN Behavioral Health Geriatric Psych

About the role

The Behavioral Health Pavilion at the Banner University Medical Center - South Campus is a Level 1 Psychiatric facility in Tucson, AZ. It provides services for patients with severe mental illness, including crisis stabilization, psychiatric assessments, 24-hour psychiatric and nursing care, expressive arts therapy, group therapy, family support therapy, medication management, and a separate behavioral health unit within the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
• Develop and revise care plans based on patient needs and feedback from the multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, case managers, pharmacists, and specialists.
• Provide hands-on patient care, including medication administration, daily living activities, and safety measures.
• Encourage patients to learn new coping skills and attend group sessions.
• Flooding to other Behavioral Health units as needed.
• Utilize self-scheduling tools and receive additional compensation for weekend and night shifts.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification.
• One year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Professional certification in nursing preferred.

Pay

• $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time, night shift work.
• Hours: 7AM-7:30PM, with a set 3rd weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday).
• Additional $3/hour Weekend Shift differential and 18% Night Shift differential, when applicable.
