Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

About the role

Staff position working 12-hour night shifts for 24 hours per week in the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Suite, a unique, supportive care setting designed with input from staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients
• Develop and evaluate care plans
• Monitor and communicate patient conditions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care including transfers and discharges
• Educate patients and families
• Delegate tasks to staff
• May precept students and new hires

Key duties

• Implement and assess care plans
• Collaborate across disciplines
• Ensure patient safety
• Support a therapeutic environment

Qualifications & skills

• Minimum of three years of acute care RN experience serving this patient population
• Valid Maine RN license or ability to obtain
• BLS certification (preferred)
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
• Commitment to ongoing learning
