Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health Adults

About the role

Behavioral Health – Charlotte, Unit 1 South is an 18‑bed inpatient adult unit providing acute behavioral health services. Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, is the only dedicated psychiatric emergency department in the region and provides treatment across a broad continuum of inpatient and outpatient services. Our center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Located in Grier Heights/Randolph Rd., within central Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Behavioral Health experience with strong de‑escalation skills preferred.
• Psychiatric‑mental health or professional nursing certification preferred.
