Registered Nurse (RN) Adult Behavioral Health

Position Purpose

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality inpatient care to adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders within the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and well-being.

What You Will Do

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health status, including psychiatric stability and withdrawal symptoms
  • Administer medications safely, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on treatment plans
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers
  • Monitor patient progress and document clinical findings accurately and timely
  • Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation when needed
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school
  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • One or more years of Mental Health, Substance use treatment, or Behavioral Health acute inpatient setting experience
  • BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Position Highlights

  • Full Time - 36 Hour Day Shift
  • Every Other Weekend/Holiday
