Trinity Health is a leading provider of mental health and behavioral services. They are currently seeking a Registered Nurse - RN to join their team at the Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Grand Rapids.
Position Overview
Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Network 180 are establishing a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC), which includes a Crisis Stabilization Unit and a Behavioral Health Brief Intervention service. The RN will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to residents of Kent County experiencing acute behavioral crises.
What you will work
- Part time: 24 hours per week
- Night Shift
What you will do
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and mental health status upon admission.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other team members to develop personalized crisis intervention and stabilization plans.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by medical professionals.
- Monitor clients' progress and respond effectively to changes in their condition.
- Provide emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping strategies to clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records.
What you will need
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program.
- Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a mental health or crisis intervention setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick and informed decisions.
- Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to working with individuals in crisis.
