About the role

Tidewater Physicians for Women is a division of Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care with offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. We provide compassionate and individualized care for women of all ages, including young teens to women past menopause. Our practice is led by a team of experienced and qualified physicians, nurse practitioners, and licensed counselors who prioritize open communication, ethical standards, and high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional medical care for patients under the physician's supervision.
• Aids providers and staff in coordinating patient care and serves as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows medical provider protocols.
• Deals with patient needs expeditiously, answers telephones, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
• Obtains authorization from insurance carriers for specialized tests and specialist appointments.
• Maintains timely patient flow, escorts patients to exam rooms, orients them to surroundings, takes vital signs, documents patient history, and prepares patients for procedures.
• Documents in patient charts appropriately: vital signs, test results, prescriptions, patient conversations, and files processed medical information.
• Assists providers with procedures, implements physician orders, answers routine patient medical inquiries, educates patients and their families about diagnostic procedures, nutrition, and health maintenance, evaluates patient needs, schedules appointments, and provides information on referral physicians and other facilities for further care.
• Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies, materials, and equipment, ensures exam rooms are clean, and maintains patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Virginia RN License.
• Ability to travel to both locations: Norfolk, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA.
• Medical office experience preferred.

Pay

Range $25.00- $29.00 per hour.

Full Time
Monday - Friday
8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
