Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive nursing care to residents while supervising and guiding clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and leads team conferences in the development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Affirms and documents the resident's condition and nursing needs accurately and promptly.
• Assigns nursing care to team members according to the resident's needs and their capabilities and qualifications.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
• Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents these actions as required by the company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state-specific Nursing Practice Act.
• Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Collaborates with other departments to coordinate nursing care for residents undergoing therapy or procedures.
• Interviews applicants and recommends hiring decisions.
• Participates in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act.
• Schedules and directs the nursing staff to the extent permitted by state practice act.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Pay

Starting wages range from $41.40 to $53.66 per hour, calculated based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, and a $5.00/hr weekend warrior program. Flexible pay options are available through UKG Wallet.
