Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

Clark County Rehab & Living Center is a long-term care facility specializing in Alzheimer’s, dementia, rehabilitation, behavioral, and custodial care. Previous experience in long-term care is preferred but not required; training will be provided to motivated applicants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
• Direct and indirect nursing care of residents on an assigned unit
• Assist with general management of the unit
• Respond to facility emergencies, complaints, and staffing issues
• Assume responsibility for facility management in absence of Director of Nursing or Nursing Care Coordinator
• Perform exceptional nursing care for residents in a professional manner
• Collect resident data using appropriate nursing assessment tools and forms, documenting findings according to facility standards
• Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and standards of practice
• Absorb and implement the nursing plan of care based on resident assessment and symptoms
• Contact physicians as necessary to obtain orders, clarify orders, or report resident status
• Provide quality care to residents at all times
• Participate in resident care conferences with family, agencies, and departments as necessary
• Maintain accuracy of nursing care plan status and Certified Nursing Assistant assignment sheets, adjusting as needed and communicating to Nursing Care Coordinator or Hospital Services Coordinator
• Engage in quality assurance programs to ensure safety and emergency policies are followed, infection control practices are maintained, and residents' rights are respected by all employees
• Support coworkers, subordinates, and supervisors by establishing appropriate working relationships

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Current Wisconsin nursing license required
