About the role

The Adult Acute Care - Med Surg: IU 2nd Floor is a 61-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in the care of orthopedic and stroke patients. It serves a diverse population with a broad range of medical conditions and surgical needs, including post-operative recovery and acute medical management. This fast-paced environment offers a dynamic setting where nurses develop strong clinical skills while managing a variety of patient cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of RN experience

Qualifications

This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for helping others. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.

Skills

Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage a variety of patient cases are essential. Experience in acute care settings is preferred but not required.
