About the role

The role involves communicating administrative issues to the nurse leader, administrator-on-call, and senior administrative leaders. Rounds are conducted to assess unit efficiency and productivity, and to gather insights into patient care, team member, and physician satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Rounds on all units to assess efficiency and productivity and gather insights into patient care, team member, and physician satisfaction.
  • Guides staff in understanding and complying with healthcare laws and company policies.
  • Aids in coordinating communication among staff, patients, and visitors through huddles, rounds, or meetings.
  • Assists in resource utilization to meet patient care needs.
  • Supervises nursing personnel, identifies and addresses problems, and documents actions and findings.
  • Provides advice and assistance to nurses regarding new or unusual treatments or medications, interprets policies and procedures, and responds to emergencies.
  • Coordinates shift management of patient flow and throughput, including participating in patient placement meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintains staffing levels for current and upcoming shifts by assessing volume and acuity needs.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in the appropriate state. Two years of nursing experience preferred. Previous management experience preferred. BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without a BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of hire/transfer date and must complete the program within three years of enrollment.

Qualifications

  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
  • Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within one year of eligibility for the certification exam.

Pay

$44.15 - $66.25 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Part time, 24 hours per week, with flexibility to work Saturdays and Sundays.
