About the role

The Town’s nursing facility, Our Island Home, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and oversee direct patient care to the residents of the Islands only nursing home.

Our Island Home is a 45-bed skilled nursing facility dually licensed in Medicaid and Medicare and owned by the Town of Nantucket. The Resident population is diverse in not only heritage but origin of location.

The Town of Nantucket assists with commuting expenses to and from the island and securing housing on Nantucket.

Responsibilities

• Provide and oversee direct patient care to the residents of the Islands only nursing home.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding long-term care facilities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care and facility operations.

Requirements

• Currently licensed in MA and in good physical and mental health.
• Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program.
• Compliance with the regulations of the MA Department of Public Health.
• Prior work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.

• Starting hourly rate $51.08 (new hires) - $64.83 (employees hired prior to July 1, 2012 with 20 years of service with the Town of Nantucket).

• RN Differential: Monday Through Friday Second Shift $2.05 Third Shift $2.25 Saturday Through Sunday First Shift $2.05 Second & Third Shift $2.60.
