About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
- Participate in interdisciplinary planning.
- Coordinate discharge planning.
- Teach patients and families about post-hospitalization care and community resources.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including serving as a Charge Nurse (with ACLS certification required).
Requirements
- Holds a current RN license in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
- Current BLS certification.
- Evidence of ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- AHA-approved ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- Charge Nurses must have current ACLS certification.
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
