Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse Radiation Oncology PRN role at HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the Radiation Oncology Team. Key responsibilities include assessing and providing appropriate nursing interventions, administering prescribed medications, educating patients and families, and assisting in the evaluation and examination of patients.
What You Will Do in This Role
- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in an Oncology department preferred.
