Registered Nurse Psychiatric Intervention Prevention - City Campus - Per Diem Nights
About the role
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification.
- Oversees the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Identifies and prioritizes patient problems relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self-care, educational and social status.
- Documents the assessment, plan, intervention and evaluation of patient care activities.
- Performs limited laboratory services such as patient identification, specimen collection, processing, quality control testing, instrument maintenance and reporting test results.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Nurses hired without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required.
- BLS required.
- Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
Performance Expectations
- Demonstrates the ability to perform department-specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work Environment
- Potential for exposure to the hazards and risks of the hospital environment, blood borne pathogens, infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
- Essential functions include considerable reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching, extensive standing and walking, including stairs, lifting approximately 25-50 pounds frequently, lifting approximately 50 to 100 pounds with assistance, occasionally pushing and pulling of heavy equipment, transporting patients on stretchers unassisted, manual dexterity to hand off instruments, maneuvering in small work areas, congested with cords, foot pedals and various equipment consoles, moving patients from beds/stretchers to procedure tables and from procedure tables to stretchers or beds.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the patient care unit or department leadership.
