Registered Nurse - Psych Adult

Department: Psych Acute Adult
Schedule: Full-Time, Days, 7am-7:30pm

Location: Aurora, IL 60506

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and educate patients about mental and medical conditions
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members
• Run therapeutic groups
• Perform psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion, and restraint of patients
• Record patients' medical histories and symptoms
• Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
• Operate medical machinery
• Administer treatment and medications
• Help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
• Teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy
• Perform other related duties

Qualifications

• Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care

Pay

$35.35 to $53.58 per hour. Exact starting compensation determined at time of selection based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
