Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Part Time Nights
About the role
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and oversees the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Performs limited laboratory services such as patient identification and specimen collection, processing samples for testing, and monitoring test results.
- Participates in educational activities to promote professional and personal growth.
- Supports performance improvement initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the patient care team.
- May be required to perform emergency room, trauma bay, intensive care unit, cardiovascular ICU, heart and vascular unit, telemetry, operating room, PACU, recovery room, interventional radiology, cath lab, electrophysiology, endoscopy, radiation oncology, and structural heart procedures.
Requirements
- City: 2 years medical/surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred.
- Trauma experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Critical care experience preferred.
- Specialty certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATCN, CCRN, CNOR, CCRN, CGRN, OCN, ONS, and Structural Heart.
- Phlebotomy, EKG, IV insertion skills.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Nurses hired without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required.
- BLS required.
- Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
Skills
- Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKG, and IV insertion.
