Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Valparaiso, Indiana. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 30-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio, focusing on telemetry, heart failure, and stroke cases. You’ll play a vital role in assessing patients, monitoring telemetry, and documenting care accurately in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for PCU patients, including telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Conduct assessments and document patient progress accurately and efficiently
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Floating to other units as needed to support patient care

Requirements

• Licensure & Certifications: Active Indiana RN license (or Compact License), BLS and NIHSS required, ACLS required within 6 months of start date
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU or telemetry nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
