Facility: Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. Department: 6 VP Progressive Care. Work Shift: Nights.
Summary: Plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
Unit Description: 6VP is a Progressive Adult ICU unit with 48 beds. Care team includes Registered Nurses, Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians, Occupational and Speech Therapists. Nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:4 (may vary). Serves acute adult and geriatric patients.
Work Experience: Experience with telemetry monitoring, respiratory treatments (BiPAP/CPAP/high flow), chest tubes/tracheostomies, administering critical drips, diabetic ketoacidosis, acute renal failure, sepsis, post‑surgical/trauma care, post‑cerebrovascular accident, pre‑ and post‑cardiac cath procedures, post‑myocardial infarction, cardiac dysrhythmia requiring drug therapy, pre‑ and post‑angioplasty/stent placement, pre‑ and post‑AICD/pacemaker placement. The unit treats total body system disorders; does not perform drips, vents or treat patients with open CABGs.
