About the role

Ball Memorial’s adult progressive care unit is an 18-bed unit specializing in exceptional care for patients transitioning from progressive to medical levels of care. The most common diagnoses include pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, GI hemorrhage, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, respiratory system diagnosis with chronic ventilator support, and renal failure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with top medical professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary rounding to foster collaboration between nursing, patients, and their families.
  • Develop clinical expertise and explore diverse career opportunities within a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in meaningful service projects for the community through the work of the Unit-Based Council.

Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Exceptional candidates without a nationally accredited degree may be considered with more than two years of acute care experience, subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
