Registered Nurse PRN Labor & Delivery
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) PRN Labor & Delivery provides professional nursing care to diverse patients, performing assessments, assisting with exams, treatments, and patient education. They collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure quality, compassionate care, and demonstrate clinical competence in procedures, medication administration, and emergency management.
Responsibilities
They assume leadership roles such as charge nurse or preceptor, participate in unit and hospital initiatives, and promote patient safety and satisfaction. They develop and communicate care plans, advocate for patients, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations. They also contribute to quality improvement, resource management, and innovative practice projects.
Qualifications
Requires a graduate of an approved nursing program, at least two years of RN experience, and licensure as a Texas-licensed RN.
Skills
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
- Essential skills: strong assessment, communication, organizational, critical thinking, and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
