What You’ll Be Doing
Schedule: PRN/As Needed – Shifts between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM any day Monday‑Friday. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides coordinated medical and clinical nursing care to meet the needs of each assigned patient within the ERC Pathlight system. The RN partners with an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and a consistently therapeutic milieu for all patients, demonstrating flexibility, effective and efficient care while maintaining quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, administering treatment, and evaluating patient response to care in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan.
- Conduct initial intake assessment of new patients and discharge reconciliation and education.
- Place, receive, and complete provider orders per ERC Pathlight policy.
- Administer medications via multiple routes in accordance with policy and provider orders.
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point‑of‑care testing following policy and laboratory vendor protocols.
- Place/maintain nasogastric tubes and administer enteral feeding.
- Place/maintain intravenous access and administer intravenous fluids.
- Perform wound care.
- Document all direct patient care, monitoring, and observation in the electronic medical record.
- Supervise and delegate care to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians.
- Communicate and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Ensure care aligns with individualized treatment plans and patient outcome goals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding patient progress and planning for continued or changing clinical interventions.
- Document and report to the treatment team regarding patient status and progress.
- Participate in training, teaching, and mentoring new nursing department teammates.
- Respond to emergency situations until emergency medical services (EMS/911) arrive on scene.
- May be required to work on‑call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
Must Haves
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state the position is held (required).
- Basic Life Support certification (required).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (required).
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (required).
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (required).
