About the Role

Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for PreOp/PostOp. This role provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. You may assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques. The position involves comprehensive patient care for those emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in preparation for discharge.

The PRN requirement is at least 6 shifts per month. The schedule consists of variable daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with no call, nights, weekends, or holiday work required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care with continual patient evaluation, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and discharge preparation.
  • Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted Registered Nurse license in NV.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of critical care experience.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center preferred.
  • Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications accredited by AHA.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of surgical patients.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
