Registered Nurse Preop/PACU- Cape May Court House Surgery Center - Per Diem Tier B
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience.
- Support physicians and the healthcare team with equipment, supplies, and assistance in the Pre-Op and PACU areas.
- Ensure a high level of customer service and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and cooperation.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic work area, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and respond to any changes or emergencies promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Educate patients and their families about pre- and post-operative care, providing clear and concise information.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer, with ACLS and PALS certifications required for specific specialties.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment with frequent interruptions and a high level of multitasking.
