Location: Skokie, IL | Type: Part Time, 20 hours/week | Hours: 9am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, no calls or weekends
Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone patient interviews before surgeries to gather and share procedural info
- Provide patient education regarding upcoming procedures and pre-anesthetic evaluations
- Collaborate with anesthesia teams and ensure completion of pre-surgical testing
- Integrate research into nursing practice and maintain current standards
- Deliver safe, compassionate care, utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Guide unlicensed staff and communicate effectively within the healthcare team
- Promote quality improvement and patient safety outcomes
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Illinois RN license
- Graduate of NLN-accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- At least 5 years of peri-anesthesia experience, with strong pre-admission testing background preferred
- Proficiency in EPIC application is a plus
