Registered Nurse-Pre and Post Op, Full Time Days
About the role
Plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
The Surgicare Unit is an Ambulatory Surgical Center located on the second floor of Highsmith Rainey Hospital. We have 3 Operating Rooms and 2 Procedure rooms. Our care team consists of Pre-testing, Pre-Op, Post-Op, Recovery Room, Interventional Radiology, and OR nursing staff. We have two Patient Care Manager. We pride ourselves in our collaboration with the anesthesia team: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and Anesthesiologists, and we have an excellent working relationship with all our skilled Surgeons. We have a transfusion unit on the fifth floor. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1. Our patients are all ages, ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient and identifies patient care needs
- Uses patient assessment information to organize appropriate patient care
- Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates patient care
- Facilitates a safe environment
- Maintains required competencies
- Functions as charge nurse as assigned
