About the role
The Post-Surgical Unit RN plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and implements nursing care services for post-surgical patients according to accepted standards. Ensures high-quality, safe patient care and compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards. The RN is responsible for responding to patient healthcare needs and providing Medical Screening Exams as delegated.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement nursing care for post-surgical patients.
- Ensure the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care in compliance with professional standards.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission and Federal/State care standards.
- Respond to patient healthcare needs and provide Medical Screening Exams as delegated.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Texas RN License.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- At least one year of RN experience in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit (preferred).
- Telemetry experience required.
