About the role
As a Per Diem Day Shift Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Infusion Center at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, you will deliver high-quality infusion and oncology nursing care in a collaborative outpatient environment. You will work alongside physicians and a multidisciplinary team to support patients through every stage of their treatment journey, combining clinical expertise with meaningful patient relationships.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and coordinate individualized care plans for patients receiving infusion and oncology services
- Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, blood transfusions, IV hydration, non-chemotherapy infusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, and injectable therapies in accordance with established clinical standards
- Monitor patients throughout treatment, recognize changes in condition, manage infusion-related reactions, and respond promptly to clinical concerns
- Provide expert care and maintenance of venous access devices while promoting patient comfort and safety
- Deliver compassionate education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and self-care following infusion therapy
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes
- Conduct telephone triage, assess patient symptoms, and provide timely clinical guidance and follow-up recommendations
- Coordinate multiple appointments and ensure seamless continuity of care across the patient's treatment journey
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record while adhering to organizational policies and patient safety standards
- Build meaningful relationships with patients through compassionate communication, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outpatient oncology care
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Oncology, ambulatory care, hospital, or subacute nursing experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Passion for delivering exceptional outpatient infusion care
