Registered Nurse, Per Diem Outpatient Infusion

Location: 225 Williamson Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202

Pay Range: $48.29 - $65.06 per hour (New Jersey rate; final compensation depends on candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience)

About the role

As a Per Diem Day Shift Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Infusion Center at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, you will deliver high-quality infusion and oncology nursing care in a collaborative outpatient environment. You will work alongside physicians and a multidisciplinary team to support patients through every stage of their treatment journey, combining clinical expertise with meaningful patient relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and coordinate individualized care plans for patients receiving infusion and oncology services
• Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, blood transfusions, IV hydration, non-chemotherapy infusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, and injectable therapies in accordance with established clinical standards
• Monitor patients throughout treatment, recognize changes in condition, manage infusion-related reactions, and respond promptly to clinical concerns
• Provide expert care and maintenance of venous access devices while promoting patient comfort and safety
• Deliver compassionate education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and self-care following infusion therapy
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes
• Conduct telephone triage, assess patient symptoms, and provide timely clinical guidance and follow-up recommendations
• Coordinate multiple appointments and ensure seamless continuity of care across the patient's treatment journey
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record while adhering to organizational policies and patient safety standards
• Build meaningful relationships with patients through compassionate communication, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outpatient oncology care

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Oncology, ambulatory care, hospital, or subacute nursing experience preferred but not required
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional outpatient infusion care
