Registered Nurse - Per Diem - Nights
Position Purpose
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team.
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Provide total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the nursing process in an organized and systematic manner according to hospital policy.
- Communicate proactively to the healthcare team, including the plan of care, changes in patient condition, patient progress, the discharge plan, and other relevant information.
- Complete admission according to policy utilizing a multi-system approach for assessment and reassessment.
- Document assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions, and outcomes according to policy and interpret and utilize clinical data in the plan of care.
- Perform accurate and thorough nursing physical assessments and document thoroughly.
- Reassess patient condition per policy.
- Interpret and utilize clinical data in the plan of care.
- Assess patient for potential risk factors.
- Recognize and integrate patient special needs and individualize care.
- Include pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
- Adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care.
- Assume accountability for managing the delivery of patient care.
- Responsible for learning policies and nursing procedures and communicating them to the healthcare team.
- Participate in discharge planning using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Assist patient/family with the grieving process and end-of-life cases as appropriate.
Responsibilities

- Utilizing clinical data in patient care planning.
- Identifying patient risk factors and special needs.
- Managing pain and supportive care issues.
- Adhering to infection control standards.
- Participating in discharge planning and multidisciplinary rounds.
- Supporting patients and families through grieving and end-of-life processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSN or BS/BA degree in Nursing required.
- Current RN Pennsylvania state license required.
- Current BLS required.
- ACLS required or obtained by completion of orientation if applicable to area of practice.
- Previous acute care experience preferred.
