About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care across various specialties at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a part of Mass General Brigham. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, teamwork, and adherence to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.
• Supports the care of unstable and critically ill patients in the Emergency Department (ED).
• Performs a variety of patient care and technical duties in the Device Clinic, including interrogation and programming of pacemakers.
• Assists in perinatal procedures for high-risk pregnancies in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice.
• Coordinates and collaborates with appropriate resources and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate a comprehensive discharge plan.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient information.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Comprehensive understanding of BORN regulations and professional standards of care.
• Experience in the specialty area as specified in the job posting.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and CPI as required.

Qualifications

• Passing scores on relevant certification exams within the first year of employment.
• Knowledge of relevant medical and surgical conditions, including hematology/oncology, cardiology, and obstetrics/gynecology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
