Role Overview
The Registered Nurse provides safe and compassionate care across patient populations by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. They collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, document care, and evaluate outcomes.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic environment, supervise staff, and ensure timely documentation.
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges through effective communication.
- Interact with patients, families, and providers to gather data and incorporate medical issues into treatment plans.
- Participate in department goal setting, quality improvement, staff training, and program evaluation.
- Supervise direct care, manage resources within budget, and serve as a role model for staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills
- Nursing degree with current Illinois RN license.
- CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: psychiatric experience, knowledge of abnormal psychology, and therapeutic systems management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively within a team.
